Both of these national programs are fantastic and provide a great platform for the least experienced juniors all the way up to competitive juniors. The Recreational Junior Academy is powered by Operation 36 which allows to junior progress at their own pace and juniors play individually in Operation 36 tournaments starting at 25 yards per hole. The PGA Jr. League, on the other hand, is based around a team concept where juniors play matches as teammates in a scramble format vs. other teams in our league. Juniors who've never hit a golf ball should start with the Junior Academy while anyone who's played at least 9 holes on the course is welcome in both programs and we encourage juniors to participate in both programs at some point.
Roadmap to Junior Tournaments
Our programs are designed to ignite your child's passion for the game while providing valuable competitive experience. For beginners, Operation 36 and the PGA Jr. League are excellent ways to start. As your child gains experience and seeks more opportunities to compete, we suggest exploring the Under Armour Tour, the Colorado PGA Jr. Tour, and US Kids Golf tournaments. For those aiming for the highest level of junior golf, the AJGA Tour, Colorado Golf Association and the Summit Jr. Tour are the top options available in our area.
